Description: I’m not even sure why I drew this. I just let my hand move and followed what felt right in the moment. But somewhere in the background, Part Of Me by Noah Kahan was playing, and the line hit: “I miss the way you made me feel like I lost part of me out there…Got so close to love with you, my dear.” That lyric stayed with me. It made me think about closeness, how it can be beautiful, warm, and soft one second, and suddenly far away the next. How something can almost be love, but not quite. How space between people opens up and doesn’t always close again. Half of me thinks I drew this just for the fun of it. But the other half, the more vulnerable, tender half, knows I drew it because I wasn’t close to them anymore. Maybe it was my way of saying: Back then, you were part of me. And now, maybe you still are. And even if I try to ignore it, I still see it in the shadows. That part of me who cared for them.
